San Francisco Neighborhoods - Fort Mason Real Estate
Despite its severe facade, this site is home to some
of the most innovative and impressive cultural museums and resources
in San Francisco. Yet perhaps due to its military title, Fort Mason's
array of outstanding attractions seem to remain unknown to most travelers
and locals alike, making it a quiet waterfront counterpart to the tourist
blitz of nearby Fisherman's Wharf. The grounds are also home to a popular
hostel and the headquarters of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area
(GGNRA). While not nearly so spectacular as the other lands under the
GGNRA's aegis, the manicured lawns make a nice spot for strolling and
picnicking.
